Engineering Overview: Cr20Ni30 in Hydrogen Production
Cr20Ni30 is an austenitic Nickel-Chromium-Iron (Ni-Cr-Fe) electrical resistance alloy optimized for high-temperature thermal management in advanced hydrogen generation systems. With a nominal composition of 30% Nickel, 20% Chromium, and balanced Iron, Cr20Ni30 delivers stable electrical resistivity (1.04 μΩ·m), high hot strength, and reliable oxidation resistance at operating temperatures up to 1,100°C (2,012°F).
In Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (SOEC) systems and high-temperature water splitting plants, operating temperatures between 650°C and 850°C are required to achieve high electrical efficiency. Cr20Ni30 alloy wire serves as the premier heating element material for steam superheating modules, electrolyzer stack thermal management, and balance-of-plant (BOP) gas preheaters, ensuring stable heat input with minimal degradation under rigorous thermal cycling.
