Corrosion is the silent killer of battery packs. A tab that looks perfect at assembly can lose its passivation film after months of salt-laden air, electrolyte vapour or condensation cycling — the weld line rusts first, contact resistance climbs, and pack impedance drifts outside spec. The remedy is not a thicker coating; it is a base metal that does not need one. This high-purity nickel strip (N6/Ni201/Ni200/N4) carries a stable, self-healing passive film, slit to battery-grade tolerances and verified per coil, so 18650 packs keep their impedance stable through temperature and humidity cycling.

Corrosion in nickel starts where impurities (Fe, Cu, Mn) segregate at grain boundaries, forming micro-galvanic cells that become pitting initiation sites. Higher base purity means fewer defect sites and a more uniform passive film.

Corrosion claims are verified, not assumed. Production batches are sampled for ASTM B117 salt-spray performance alongside tensile, hardness and slit-edge burr checks; every coil passes thickness gauging across the width. Chemical composition is locked per heat, and an EN 10204 3.1 MTC is issued on request.
Coils are wrapped in anti-rust paper with a moisture barrier, secured on plywood pallets and strapped for sea or air freight; coil IDs and lot numbers give full traceability back to the heat. Standard sizes ship in 3–7 days from stock, custom slitting in 15–25 days. Free 0.5 kg samples are dispatched within 3–5 days.

Plated steel protects only while the coating is intact — cut edges and weld zones expose the steel core, which corrodes and raises contact resistance. Pure nickel is corrosion-resistant through the full cross-section and its passive film re-forms after surface damage.
Welded tabs in alkaline electrolyte service: Ni201 (C ≤0.02%) to keep the weld zone passive. General corrosion or humid cycling without heavy electrolyte: N6 offers the same purity class at lower cost.
