New energy battery packs live or die at the tab weld — a strip that varies in chemistry or thickness turns a good weld into a field failure. This NP1 NP2 pure nickel strip, rolled from 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm thick and 5-200 mm wide, is built for battery tab and connector service: stable weld behaviour coil after coil, low resistance of 0.096 μΩ·m, and two GB grades — NP1 (N4) at ≥99.9% Ni+Co and NP2 (N6) at ≥99.5% — to match purity budget to pack duty. Battery widths from 2 mm to 15 mm are available on the same line, with ISO 9001 certified production and 7-15 day standard delivery.

The title of this product uses the GB designations NP1 and NP2 — the Chinese naming for N4 (≥99.9% Ni+Co) and N6 (≥99.5% Ni+Co). The same line also rolls the ASTM grades Ni200 (UNS N02200, ≥99.2%) and Ni201 (UNS N02201, ≥99.0%), and all four are commercial-purity nickel, not alloys. For battery tab service the practical difference is purity and cost per kg: NP1 carries the highest purity and price, NP2 the workhorse economy grade, and Ni200/Ni201 the ASTM-specified options where a customer's drawing calls them out. State the designation system on your order — GB (NP1/NP2) or ASTM (Ni200/Ni201) — and the mill certificate will follow it.
| Form | Size Range | Temper |
|---|---|---|
| Strip (thickness * width) | 0.05-0.5 mm * 5-200 mm | M / 1/4H / 1/2H |
| Battery strip widths | 2-15 mm | M (soft) typical |
Note: standard strip orders start at a 5 kg MOQ; N4 high-purity strip at 3 kg. Thickness, width and temper can be produced to customer requirements — submit your drawing for confirmation.
Tab and connector strip carries the full cell current, so two properties dominate: resistance and weld behaviour. Low resistivity (0.096 μΩ·m) limits heat at the joint, and a clean, uniform surface gives repeatable spot-weld penetration. NP1/NP2 strip is supplied with controlled surface finish and tight gauge tolerance so the weld window stays the same across the coil — the property pack builders depend on for automated welding lines.
Carbon and impurity limits differ across the four grades: NP1/N4 holds carbon to ≤0.01% at ≥99.9% Ni+Co, NP2/N6 to ≤0.10% at ≥99.5%. For battery service both weld cleanly in resistance spot welding; NP1 is specified where maximum purity is required (sensor and precision tab applications), NP2 for general pack duty at lower cost. The strip is produced on a nickel-only line, so grade chemistry is controlled from melt to coil rather than blended from bought-in stock.
Battery assembly calls for narrow, precise widths: 2-15 mm battery strip is slit from wider coils with clean edges to avoid burrs at the weld joint. Thickness from 0.05 mm (foil-like tab stock) to 0.5 mm (busbar and connector stock) is rolled to gauge tolerance confirmed per drawing. Soft temper (M) is typical for tab forming; 1/4H or 1/2H suits parts that must hold shape after stamping.
Produced in-house from melt to finished coil, the strip passes rolling, annealing, slitting and surface treatment with chemical composition, thickness, width and mechanical properties checked per batch. Batch records accompany the shipment, and export orders include EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates — so a second coil matches the first.

Every batch passes chemical composition analysis, thickness and width measurement, mechanical property testing and surface inspection before release. Surface cleanliness is checked at the weld zone — burrs, oil and oxide are the first causes of failed tab welds — and batch records accompany the shipment.

Strip is supplied coiled with edge protection, packed in export cartons or wooden cases as required. Delivery is 7-15 days for standard production, 3-7 days for small in-stock quantities, and 15-30 days for complex custom requirements confirmed against your drawing.
Our nickel-only line has rolled strip for battery customers since 2002 — which is why pack builders order repeat coils from us instead of switching suppliers: the chemistry, gauge and surface stay identical coil after coil, verified by batch records on every shipment. Operating 12,000 m² of plant with ISO 9001 & SGS certified systems and 10,000 t/yr capacity, we supply NP1/NP2 and Ni200/Ni201 strip to battery and electronics customers across export markets.

For general battery tab and connector duty, NP2/N6 (≥99.5%) is the economical workhorse. Specify NP1/N4 (≥99.9%) where maximum purity is required, and use the ASTM designations Ni200/Ni201 when your drawing calls them out. State the designation system on the order and the mill certificate will follow it.
Thickness from 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm, standard widths 5-200 mm, and battery widths from 2 mm to 15 mm, in soft, 1/4H or 1/2H temper. Gauge and width tolerances are locked per drawing at order confirmation.
Each batch is checked for chemical composition, thickness, width and surface condition, with batch records provided. For a new strip supply, a sample coil lets you run weld tests before committing to production quantity.
Standard strip starts at 5 kg; N4 high-purity strip at 3 kg. Samples are free for N6/NP2 and Ni200 (0.5 kg); N4/NP1 and Ni201 samples are charged and refunded on a first order of 50 kg or more.
Standard production ships in 7-15 days; small in-stock quantities in 3-7 days; complex custom requirements in 15-30 days after drawing confirmation.
Export orders include EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates covering chemical composition, dimensions and mechanical properties, plus batch test records for traceability.
