Two 18650 cells side by side define the pitch: the strip's 19.5 mm pitch distance matches the cell spacing, and the 49.5 mm width covers the pair plus weld land. Using a pre-sized wide strip instead of individual tabs cuts handling steps and keeps weld positions consistent across the row — the geometry is locked by the strip, not by the operator.

Pitch, Pattern and Current Path

In a 2P configuration two cells share the connection, so the strip carries the combined current path. Low resistance (0.096 μΩ·m) limits heating at the weld joint, and the 19.5 mm pitch keeps the weld points on the cell terminals rather than across the gap. Spot welding is decided at the surface: oil, oxide and burrs are the first causes of failed welds.
