A 49.5 mm wide 2P strip is the standard format for connecting 18650 cell pairs across a pack row — one strip covers two parallel cells with a single weld pattern. This 49.5mm 2P pure nickel strip is rolled for 18650 battery connection service: 19.5 mm pitch to match cell spacing, bright surface for stable spot welds, and resistivity of 0.096 μΩ·m to keep current-path heat low. Ni200 and Ni201 are the standard grades on this line, with N4/N6 also available; thicknesses of 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 mm cover typical pack duty, and other sizes are customized per drawing.

Battery connection strip comes in two format families. Narrow tab strip (2-15 mm) is slit to individual tab widths and welded cell by cell; wide strip like this 49.5 mm format carries a pre-punched or pre-patterned 2P layout, so one strip bridges two parallel cells at once and reduces handling on the assembly line. The choice is a volume question: wide patterned strip suits batch assembly where weld layout is fixed, while narrow tab stock suits flexible or mixed packs. This page supplies the wide 49.5 mm format for 18650 2P connection — if your pack uses a different cell or configuration, the same nickel strip is available in other widths and patterns per drawing.
| Form | Size Range | Temper |
|---|---|---|
| Strip (thickness * width) | 0.05-0.5 mm * 5-200 mm | M / 1/4H / 1/2H |
| Battery strip (this page) | 0.1 / 0.15 / 0.2 mm * 49.5 mm | M (soft) typical |
Note: standard strip orders start at a 5 kg MOQ; N4 high-purity strip at 3 kg. The thickness and dimensions can be produced to customer requirements — submit your drawing for confirmation.
Two 18650 cells side by side define the pitch: the strip's 19.5 mm pitch distance matches the cell spacing, and the 49.5 mm width covers the pair plus weld land. Using a pre-sized wide strip instead of individual tabs cuts handling steps and keeps weld positions consistent across the row — the geometry is locked by the strip, not by the operator.
In a 2P configuration two cells share the connection, so the strip carries the combined current path. Low resistance (0.096 μΩ·m) limits heating at the weld joint, and the 19.5 mm pitch keeps the weld points on the cell terminals rather than across the gap. Custom pitch and width are available per drawing; tell us your cell spacing and row layout and the pattern will be confirmed before rolling.
All four grades are commercial-purity nickel, not alloys, and all weld cleanly in resistance spot welding. Ni201 (≥99.0% Ni, C ≤0.02%) is the low-carbon choice for battery service; Ni200 (≥99.2% Ni, C ≤0.15%) is the economical standard; N4 (≥99.9%) and N6 (≥99.5%) follow the GB designation system. Purity and carbon affect weld behaviour and long-term corrosion, not conductivity — specify the grade your drawing calls out, and the mill certificate will state the actual chemistry.
Spot welding is decided at the surface: oil, oxide and burrs are the first causes of failed welds. This strip is produced with a bright, clean surface and checked per batch for composition, thickness, width and surface condition. The production process — melting, rolling, heat treatment, finishing and testing — is run in-house, and batch records accompany the shipment so the next coil welds like the first.

Every batch passes chemical composition analysis, thickness and width measurement, mechanical property testing and surface inspection before release. Surface cleanliness at the weld zone is checked specifically — burrs, oil and oxide are the first causes of failed tab welds — and batch records accompany the shipment.

Strip is supplied spooled with carton box or coiled with polybag, with edge protection as required. Delivery is 7-15 days for standard production, 3-7 days for small in-stock quantities, and 15-30 days for complex custom requirements confirmed against your drawing.
Battery customers choose DLX for the same reason they stay: the strip that arrives matches the strip they specified — same width, same pitch, same bright surface, same weld behaviour — because composition, geometry and surface are verified per batch on a nickel-only line running since 2002. With ISO 9001 & SGS certified systems, 10,000 t/yr capacity and export documentation per EN 10204 3.1, we supply patterned and plain nickel strip to battery pack builders across export markets.

The 49.5 mm width with 19.5 mm pitch is sized for two parallel 18650 cells per strip (2P). For different cell spacing or row layouts, pitch and width are customized per drawing — send your cell configuration and we will confirm the pattern.
Yes. Pitch and width are locked per drawing at order confirmation; standard pitch here is 19.5 mm and width 49.5 mm, and both are adjustable to your pack geometry.
0.1 mm suits light-duty packs where weld heat input is a concern; 0.15 mm is the common balance of current capacity and weldability; 0.2 mm carries higher current for demanding packs. The strip range covers 0.05-0.5 mm overall.
Ni201 (low carbon, ≥99.0% Ni) is the typical battery choice; Ni200 (≥99.2%) is the economical standard; N4 (≥99.9%) and N6 (≥99.5%) follow the GB system. State the designation on the order and the mill certificate will match it.
Standard strip starts at 5 kg; N4 high-purity strip at 3 kg. Samples are free for N6/Ni200 (0.5 kg); N4/Ni201 samples are charged and refunded on a first order of 50 kg or more.
Standard production ships in 7-15 days; small in-stock quantities in 3-7 days; complex custom requirements in 15-30 days after drawing confirmation. Export orders include EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates and batch test records.
