Single-grade focus means single-grade expertise. At Changzhou DLX Alloy Co., Ltd., Inconel 625 is not one line item in a catalog — it is the nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy we know best. Our tubing is cold drawn from solution-annealed hollows through multi-pass precision reduction, delivering the exact outside diameter, wall thickness, and surface finish your heat exchanger design, subsea hydraulic system, or chemical injection line demands. Seamless to ASTM B444 or welded to ASTM B704 — both produced under the same ISO9001 system with full EN 10204 3.1 MTC traceability.
| Challenge | How Inconel 625 Answers | What Fails Without It |
|---|---|---|
| Seawater pitting & crevice corrosion | PREN ≥ 45 from 8–10% Mo + 20–23% Cr. Passive film stable in chloride environments up to 60°C. | 316L tubing pits within months in warm seawater; duplex can fail at welds in stagnant conditions |
| Sour service (H₂S + chlorides at pressure) | Meets NACE MR0175 for specified hardness levels. No sulfide stress cracking at wellhead conditions. | Most stainless and low-alloy steels crack catastrophically in sour environments without inhibitor |
| High-temperature strength retention | Solid-solution strengthened — no over-aging. Retains ≥80% of room-temperature yield strength at 650°C. | Precipitation-hardened alloys lose strength above aging temperature; carbon steels lose all strength above 500°C |
| Fatigue under cyclic thermal + pressure loading | Excellent low-cycle fatigue resistance from cryogenic to 650°C. Proven in aerospace ducting with 10⁵+ pressure cycles. | Work-hardened stainless tubing develops micro-cracks at stress concentration points under cyclic loading |
| Weld zone corrosion | Low carbon (≤0.10%) prevents sensitization during welding. No post-weld heat treatment required for corrosion resistance. | Sensitized stainless weld HAZ corrodes selectively in even mildly aggressive environments |
| Application | Typical OD / Wall | Why 625 Tubing |
|---|---|---|
| Shell & tube heat exchangers | 12.7–38.1 mm OD / 1.24–3.05 mm wall | Resists both process-side corrosion and cooling-water-side pitting. One alloy for both tube-side and shell-side media. |
| Subsea hydraulic control lines | 6.35–19.05 mm OD / 0.89–2.11 mm wall | 25-year design life at 3000m depth without corrosion allowance. Continuous coil lengths to 2000m eliminate subsea welds. |
| Chemical injection quills | 3.18–12.7 mm OD / 0.71–1.65 mm wall | Withstands concentrated chemical attack at the injection point where dilution hasn't occurred yet. |
| Aerospace bleed air ducting | 25.4–76.2 mm OD / 0.89–1.65 mm wall (thin-wall welded) | Thin-wall welded construction saves weight; 625 maintains strength at bleed air temperatures exceeding 600°C. |
| Marine exhaust gas coolers | 15.88–31.75 mm OD / 1.24–2.11 mm wall | Resists sulfurous acid condensation on the gas side and seawater on the cooling side — simultaneously. |
| Downhole chemical injection lines | 6.35–12.7 mm OD / 0.89–1.65 mm wall | Continuous seamless lengths coiled for deployment. Resists the injected chemical internally and the well fluid externally. |

When you specify Inconel 625 tubing, you are paying for the nickel, the chromium, and the molybdenum — and you are betting that the processing was done right. Cold worked too much without intermediate annealing, and the tube cracks during flare testing. Annealed at the wrong temperature, and sigma phase precipitates, destroying corrosion resistance. Quenched too slowly, and sensitization creates a tube that corrodes exactly where it shouldn't — in the heat-affected zone of your weld.
At DLX, every Inconel 625 tube is cold drawn with pass-by-pass reduction control, inter-stage solution annealing at precisely 1090–1150°C, and rapid water quenching. Our operators know that rushing the quench by two seconds can mean the difference between a tube that passes ASTM B444 and one that doesn't. Since 2002, this attention to nickel alloy processing has been our only business.

| Stage | What We Check | Why It Matters for 625 |
|---|---|---|
| Hollow / billet | PMI + OES full chemistry including Nb, Mo, Co | Niobium and molybdenum define 625's corrosion resistance — under-spec here, and the PREN drops below seawater-safe levels |
| Cold drawing | OD & wall at every pass; surface inspection for draw lines | Deep draw lines become crack initiation sites under cyclic pressure — caught and corrected before the next pass |
| Solution anneal | Furnace temp profile, quench delay timing, grain size per ASTM E112 | Grain size finer than ASTM 5 indicates incomplete recrystallization; coarser than ASTM 3 risks reduced tensile. We target 4–5. |
| NDT | 100% eddy current per ASTM E426 + hydrostatic per order spec | Two independent NDT methods — eddy current catches longitudinal defects missed by hydrotest; hydrotest catches through-wall leaks missed by eddy current |
| Documentation | EN 10204 3.1 MTC + ECT report + hydrotest cert + grain size report | Complete traceability from hollow heat number to your receiving inspection — no missing pages in the documentation chain |

Seamless for maximum pressure integrity, heavy-wall applications, and when your design code requires it. Thin-wall welded when you need tight wall tolerance, longer continuous lengths, or lower cost at thinner gauges. Both meet the same chemistry and tensile requirements. Our technical team can review your operating pressure and recommend.
Up to 2000m in a single seamless length depending on OD and wall. This is critical for subsea umbilical tubing where every field weld is a cost, a schedule delay, and a potential leak path. We verify continuous length by eddy current from end to end.
Yes. Specify your bend radius (typically 1.5* to 2.5* OD), leg length, and whether you need the bend zone solution annealed after forming. We U-bend in-house and can supply with post-bend annealing to restore full corrosion resistance in the bend region.
Every seamless tube is eddy current tested 100%. Hydrostatic testing is performed to your specified test pressure or per ASTM B829 as standard. For subsea applications, we can hydrotest to API 5CRA requirements. Test pressure and hold time per your order specification.
We target mid-range chemistry — not just "within spec." For Inconel 625, we aim Ni ≥60%, Mo ≥9%, Cr ~21.5% — tighter than the ASTM B444 minimums. This means consistent PREN, consistent tensile, and consistent corrosion performance regardless of which heat your tube came from.
