Product Description
ASTM B622 ASME SB622 Alloy C276 C22 B2 Nickel Alloy Seamless Tube For Petrochemical MT23
ASTM B622 ASME SB622 Hastelloy C276 Seamless Tube with Seawater and Chloride Resistance for High Temperature Petrochemical Applications 0
Alloy C-276 offers exceptional resistance to localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, performing well in both oxidizing and reducing media. This makes it ideal for diverse chemical process environments, including applications with ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media (organic and inorganic), formic and acetic acids, as well as seawater and brine solutions.
This alloy is among the few materials capable of withstanding the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide.
Scope of Application
Widely used in chemical and petrochemical fields, particularly for components and catalytic systems exposed to organics containing chlorides. The material excels in high-temperature environments with mixed impurities of inorganic and organic acids (such as formic acid and acetic acid), as well as seawater corrosion conditions.
Other Application Fields
  • Pulp and paper industries: decolorization and bleaching vessels
  • FGD systems: scrubber towers, reheaters, wet steam fans
  • Equipment and components operating in acidic gas environments
  • Acetic acid and acid product reactors
  • Sulfuric acid condensers
  • Methylenediphenyl isocyanate (MDI) production and processing of impurity phosphoric acid
Corrosion Resistance
C276 alloys are extensively used in chemical process industries handling both oxidizing and reducing media. The high molybdenum and chromium content provides excellent resistance to chloride ion corrosion, while tungsten further enhances corrosion resistance.
As one of the few materials resistant to wet chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions, C276 demonstrates significant corrosion resistance to high-concentration chloride solutions (including ferric chloride and copper chloride).
