INCOLOY alloy 800H is an alloy of nickel, iron and chromium. The alloy is capable of remaining stable and maintaining its austenitic structure even after long time exposures to high temperatures. Other characteristics of the alloy are good strength, and high resistance to oxidizing, reducing and aqueous environments. The standard forms in which this alloy is available are round, flats, forging stock, tube, plate, sheet, wire and strip.

800H is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that is part of the family of 800 series of alloy. Also known as Nickel Alloy 800H, Incoloy 800H has many of the characteristics of the other 800 alloys. These include:

  • Resistance to prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures
  • Excellent resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and carburization
  • Added Carbon and annealing treatment allows for higher creep and rupture properties above 1100°F (600°C)
  • Resistant to high temperature corrosion
  • Readily machined by standard methods
  • Best joined/welded using products for high temperature situations
  • Resistance to aqueous corrosion at moderate temperatures

Some typical applications are:

  • Heat-treating equipment such as baskets, trays, and fixtures.
  • Chemical and petrochemical processing,
  • Heat exchangers and other piping systems in nitric acid media especially where resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking is required. 
  • Nuclear power plants, it is used for steam-generator tubing.
  • Domestic appliances for sheathing of electric heating elements.
  • Production of paper pulp, digester-liquor heaters are often made of alloy 800.
  • Petroleum processing, the alloy is used for heat exchangers that air cool the process stream.
