Inconel Series
INCONEL (nickle-chromium-iron) alloy 600 (UNS N06600/W.Nr. 2.4816) is a standard engineering material for applications requiring corrosion and heat resistance. The alloy offers excellent mechanical properties, combining high strength with good workability.
The high nickel content provides resistance to corrosion by organic and inorganic compounds and makes it virtually immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Chromium enhances resistance to sulfur compounds and oxidizing conditions at high temperatures or in corrosive solutions. The alloy is not precipitation hardenable, being strengthened only by cold work. INCONEL alloy 600 is versatile for applications ranging from cryogenic temperatures to above 2000°F (1095°C).
